From spreadsheet to personalized email.
If you understand traditional mail merge, you already understand the basic idea behind MergeFlow.
MergeFlow brings the familiar spreadsheet + document workflow into Google Sheets and Google Docs.
- 1
Create your recipient list
Each spreadsheet column can become a merge field.
Spreadsheet · Recipients First Name Email School Oscar oscar@example.com Valley School Jamie jamie@example.com Oak School - 2
Start a MergeFlow campaign
MergeFlow validates your recipient information before the campaign begins, so missing or unusable rows surface early.
- 3
Create or select a Google Docs template
Create a new document for the campaign, or choose an existing Google Doc you already use.
- 4
Insert merge fields
Hello
{{First Name}},We're excited to welcome you to
{{School}}. - 5
Create your email subject
The subject line can use merge fields too.
Welcome,
{{First Name}}! - 6
Preview personalized recipients
Move between recipient previews to check how the personalized message looks for different rows in your sheet.
- 7
Send yourself a test
Test emails let users verify the message without marking the campaign recipient as sent.
- 8
Review before sending
Before sending, MergeFlow can show information such as:
- total recipients
- previously sent recipients
- recipients eligible for sending
- available sending quota where applicable
- 9
Send
Messages are sent through the Google account authorized by the user.
- 10
Add recipients later
Add new rows to the associated Google Sheet, refresh the campaign, and MergeFlow can identify recipients that have not previously been recorded as sent.
